All six of us are U.S. citizens, middle-aged and (in case you didn’t notice) white men. This is probably not a coincidence, but it is problematic. Who we are limits the breadth and diversity of our world views. Therefore, we have asked someone to moderate the National Debate who will be requested to, yes, pose the questions, but more importantly to monitor our answers for indications of unearned privilege, sexism, racism, classism, U.S. exceptionalism, imperialism, paternalism, patriarchalism and heteronormativism, and to boldly highlight these during the debate.
